Sweethearts…

I met my husband when I was 14.  Yep…you read that right.  Don’t worry, he was only 16.  We liked to flirt in the library.  Turns out there was a lot of unsupervised time to flirt in high school. My current high school kids will not confirm or deny if this is still true.  So, we’ve grown up together.

I cheered for him on the football field and basketball court (I don’t think I ever went to a baseball game though).  He cheered for me on the volleyball court.

We weathered a year of long-distance romance when he went off to college and I finished high school.  He was by my side when my dad died suddenly, shortly after my 18th birthday.

We’ve cheered for each other in success and comforted each other in disappointments.

We’ve been surprised, excited and shocked to find out we were expecting.

We’ve explored many destinations together and still have many more to check off.

More important than anything, we’ve built a happy life together, raising our four kids.

And while nothing is perfect, we’re perfectly happy being imperfectly in love.
